Luke Boor provided an indie-rock single, "Queens"

On his latest single ‘Queens’, Luke Boor has penned a quirky, indie rock nugget on the heartache of lost love, set against the backdrop of New York City’s bustling subway system. It is a soulful composition riddled with romance that will resonate with anyone who has ever loved and lost.

Transporting you straight to the essence of city life in and of itself, with the ambling Western frontier-style guitars possessing a journeying air to them as the drums reverberate; imitating the rhythm of the NYC subway’s wheels they come together to form an experience of sound. Boor’s vocals are striking in his heartfelt lyrics, marking him out to be one of, if not the premier male voices in the indie-rock genre.

Boor’s song lyrics are intellectual verses that tell about love and how it dies. He talks about all of this while he is on a bus. His words are very complex and must have taken him a long time to figure out how to say those four lines. Some of the words are long names of tissues and he had to find something that went well with them.

Also very noteworthy is the production. “Queens” sounds beautiful. This song, more than any of the other early releases, has a rustic kind of sound to it. It kind of sounds like it was recorded in a cabin in the middle of a field or something. And the way the real drums are mixed with chamber-like orchestration, a la “Funeral,” is really great. It just adds an edge to the song, one that the other versions could benefit from for sure. I know “Queens” was written before COVID was even a thing, but this is yet another song on the record that I would be interested in hearing Max's record now.

Deeper in a music stance "Queens" showcases Luke Boor’s journey through music and how much can change in a move from LA to Tennessee symbolizing his upcoming from LA to Nashville and a solo career that has brought us a deeply moving song showing his further though out a musician and a storyteller.

More than a song, “Queens” is a cinematic experience. In a little over three minutes, Luke Boor takes listeners on an unhurried, emotional journey through the landscapes of heartbreak and renewal like a hopeful rush of emotions. With treats all properly dunked, Luke Boor is quickly establishing himself as one of indie rock’s most evocative storytellers, painting unforgettable pictures in our heads with his musical talent.
