Savannah Chrisley Blames Robert Shiver's Ex For Their Breakup

Savannah Chrisley is spilling the tea on the demise of her relationship with Robert Shiver in a raw and tearful revelation, putting much of the blame at the feet of the chaos his ex-wife Lindsay Shiver left in her wake. In the latest episode of her Unlocked podcast, Chrisley didn't mince words as she opened up about the heartbreak and disarray that caused the couple to separate.

Savannah emphasized that her relationship with Robert wasn't simply another romance fallen by the wayside, as it was a connection uprooted by a storm neither of them seemed to see coming. The key player in all of it, Savannah said, was Robert's former spouse, Lindsay Shiver, who was arrested in 2023 for allegedly conspiring to have him killed. "I don't want to give her the notoriety that she has so badly been seeking, but I feel like that's the only way to go," Savannah began, her voice steady though tinged with frustration. "I don't think I will ever forgive her for what she has put Robert and the boys through. I don't believe that Robert and I would be where we were at today if she wouldn't have caused so much mass destruction."

Savannah's damage was more than emotional and systemic. She referred to Lindsay's behavior as "mass destruction," an entity that penetrated each aspect of Robert's life and, eventually, their relationship. Although she said Robert was a devoted father to his three sons and a profoundly loving partner, the weight of his past was too excellent to overlook.

"He should have done a lot of work on himself before he and I met," she confessed. "He deserved to get to work through all of that pain and trauma so that he could move on with his life in a healthy manner." Though grieving, Savannah remembered the good times, calling Robert her best friend and someone she cared for deeply. But their smooth start transformed into chaos when Lindsay was released from custody earlier this year. Savannah thinks Lindsay's return to their world was the last straw.

"Not only did she come back, but the chaos came back with her," she said. "It's like she wanted to destroy everything in his path, her path, everyone. There was never any sense of care for another individual other than herself." Savannah also took a more general view of the dynamics of relationships, including the oft-ignored role of women in creating emotional chaos. Though Savannah's words contained pain and disappointment, they also bore a message of clarity. In her view, her relationship with Robert was doomed not by incompatibility but by unresolved trauma and a former lover who wouldn't let go.
